AI Revolution Unveiled at GITEX GLOBAL 2024 on ‘AI Super Tuesday’

GITEX GLOBAL 2024 continued its momentum with a dynamic “AI Super Tuesday,” where international exhibitors showcased groundbreaking innovations shaping the future of society and industry. The event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), marks the largest-ever edition of the world’s biggest tech exhibition, with more than 6,500 exhibitors, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors from over 180 countries.

AI Driving Transformation

Tuesday’s focus was on the transformative power of AI, with experts highlighting its potential to revolutionize sectors such as medicine. In a session titled “The Next Leap in Medicine: Are We on the Edge of a Breakthrough?”, Dr. Shameer Khader from Sanofi emphasized the need to harness AI to optimize drug discovery processes, aiming to reduce development costs and time.

One of the standout presentations featured “BabyX,” an interactive AI simulation of a lifelike infant that learns and reacts like a human baby. Developed by Dr. Mark Sagar, co-founder of Soul Machines, BabyX demonstrates how AI could shape the future economy by mimicking human learning processes.

Collaborative Projects and Strategic Partnerships

GITEX GLOBAL 2024 also served as a platform for new partnerships, with KAOUN and Digital Dubai Authority signing an MoU to grow the GITEX ecosystem. AWS and e& further strengthened the collaborative atmosphere by announcing a $1 billion agreement focused on AI deployment and cloud solutions.

AI’s Impact Across Industries

Other sessions explored AI’s cross-sector impact. During the “Quantum Mobility Quest,” Airbus Vice President Isabell Gradert highlighted quantum computing’s potential to reshape the aviation industry by solving complex aerospace challenges.

UAE-based Presight unveiled its Intelli Platform, an AI-powered solution for managing city infrastructure, while AWS introduced Bedrock, a service for building and deploying generative AI applications.

Looking Ahead: Cybersecurity Day

As GITEX GLOBAL 2024 reaches its halfway point, Wednesday’s “Cybersecurity Day” will focus on emerging digital threats and the tools needed to counter them, bringing together thought leaders and experts from around the world.
