Cisco Launches Full-Stack Observability Platform for Enhanced Insights and Optimization.

Cisco has introduced its latest offering, the Full-Stack Observability Platform, a comprehensive solution that leverages the company’s entire portfolio. This platform provides customers with contextual, correlated, and predictive insights to quickly resolve issues, optimize experiences, and minimize business risks.

The Full-Stack Observability Platform creates an ecosystem by consolidating data from various domains such as application, networking, infrastructure, security, cloud, sustainability, and business sources.

Liz Centoni, Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer, and General Manager of Applications at Cisco, highlighted the importance of Full-Stack Observability in today’s digital-first business environment. She emphasized that the platform brings together network intelligence, security insights, and application observability across multi-cloud environments and technology stacks to deliver superior digital experiences with deep business context.

The Cisco Full-Stack Observability (FSO) Platform is built on OpenTelemetry and focuses on Metrics, Events, Logs, and Traces (MELT), enabling seamless collection and analysis of MELT data from any source. It is designed as a unified and extensible platform, empowering developers to build their own observability solutions and fostering a collaborative ecosystem of customers and partners.

The primary solution offered on the Cisco FSO Platform is Cloud Native Application Observability. It helps customers achieve business outcomes, make data-driven decisions about digital experiences, align performance with end-user expectations, and enhance security.

Alongside Cloud Native Application Observability, the initial set of modules on the Cisco FSO Platform includes:

– Cost Insights: Provides visibility and insights into application-level costs and performance metrics, enabling businesses to understand the financial impact of their cloud applications while supporting sustainability efforts.

– Application Resource Optimizer: Offers visibility into Kubernetes workload resource utilization, allowing businesses to maximize resource usage, reduce excessive cloud spending, and meet financial targets and sustainability goals.

– Security Insights: Generates an application-based business risk score to assist DevOps and SecOps teams in prioritizing and addressing vulnerabilities in cloud-native applications or services that are highly susceptible to exploitation.

– Cisco AIOps: Provides a centralized view of contextualized data related to infrastructure, network, incidents, and performance of business applications, simplifying and optimizing IT operational needs.

Cisco is collaborating with partners such as CloudFabrix, Evolutio, and Kanari to develop a diverse ecosystem of solutions for the Cisco FSO Platform. These partnerships aim to create new use cases and rapidly deliver customer value by leveraging observable telemetry.

Launch partners of the Cisco FSO Platform are building innovative solutions and expanding the platform’s reach to new customers and business use-cases. For example:

– CloudFabrix’s vSphere Observability and Data Modernization solution correlates vSphere data with Kubernetes and infrastructure data through the Cisco FSO Platform to provide insights and recommended actions across the infrastructure and containerized application stack.

– Evolutio Fintech’s observability solution enables customers to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) based on ingested data such as payments and credit card authorizations, empowering them to gain valuable business insights.

– Kanari’s Capacity Planner and Forecaster offers visibility into time series data for capacity planning and forecasted events, incorporating risk factors determined through predictive machine learning algorithms. This solution supports organizations in sustainable, resilient resource planning and tracking.

The launch of the Cisco FSO Platform marks a significant milestone in Cisco’s accelerated Full-Stack Observability strategy. Partners can unlock additional value for themselves and their customers by leveraging the platform’s extensibility. AI-driven root cause analysis, experience optimization, and incident management are tied to business context, enabling teams to proactively identify, prioritize, resolve, and predict issues before they impact end-users and their businesses.
