VMware will showcase the ability of its latest innovations in multi-cloud and app modernization to help customers optimize their strategies and transform their operations at Cairo ICT.
Organizations are experiencing a huge increase in complexity, security issues, and skills scarcity as they adopt multi-cloud. At Cairo ICT, VMware will demonstrate how it is assisting businesses in effectively implementing a “Cloud Smart” strategy that offers them flexibility and choice across several clouds.
Egypt witnessed a 16% growth within the ICT sector during the fiscal year 2021 – 2022. A report by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development pointed out the importance of organisations not only in Egypt but in the wider MENA region to recognize the challenges that surround cloud adoption and how to get it right.
VMware’s booth will feature special pods dedicated to key solutions and services including application modernization with VMware Tanzu, VMware Cloud Provider Partner program, cloud infrastructure (VMC on AWS), managing the cloud with VMware Aria, secure cloud workloads with VMware NSX, and VMware Telco Cloud Platform.
Amr Salah, Regional Director NALE said “VMware and its partners remain dedicated to helping organizations embrace a multi-cloud and app-centric approach that unlocks innovation and agility while enhancing security. A multi-cloud environment gives customers a rich choice of clouds—sovereign and global—in which they can run their apps. At Cairo ICT we’re excited to help customers understand how to turn multi-cloud complexity into competitive advantage.”
Recent research by Vanson Bourne and commissioned by VMware found that 97% of cloud-smart organisations surveyed said their approach to multi-cloud had improved their revenue growth and 96% said it had improved their profitability reinforcing the need for businesses to concentrate on multi-cloud. These insights highlight the value of VMware Cross-Cloud services, which give customers the benefits of a cloud-smart strategy by assisting them in selecting the appropriate cloud for the appropriate app.
The company will also showcase helping its customers to reduce carbon emissions and make a more sustainable future. A total of 1.2 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide has been averted by Vmare customers through its products.
Through the VMware IT Academy, a global public-private partnership programme to enhance education systems by working with governmental bodies, business partners, educational institutions, and community organisations, VMware is promoting technology education and knowledge transfer in Egypt. In 2021, more than 1,100 Egyptian students graduated from programmes offered by the VMware IT Academy.
In line with the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030, VMware is well-positioned to support organisations in Egypt. The company has continued to grow its presence there and ramp up its capacity to support multi-cloud adoption and digital transformation initiatives across sectors like government, finance, education, and telecoms.
VMware, which currently employs 500 people in Egypt, relocated to a special office in New Cairo earlier in 2022, and it plans to hire more people in the ensuing year.
