Cloudflare, Inc., the connectivity cloud company, has announced the release of several critical security tools at no cost, including access to its comprehensive Zero Trust platform, Cloudflare One. This move aims to enhance the ability of security teams to monitor and assess their organization’s health without the burden of high vendor costs or shrinking security budgets.
In a landscape where securing an organization often comes with significant financial barriers, Cloudflare’s decision addresses a pressing need. Traditionally, advanced security services have been accessible only to large enterprises capable of managing both technology and associated costs. As security budgets tighten and software inflation is projected to reach 12.3% in 2024, many organizations struggle with escalating renewal rates that do not correspond with added value.
Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional value. “For every dollar a customer spends, we should be giving them 10x the value in return. But most security vendors increase their pricing every year without adding any value,” Prince said. “By releasing these features for free, organizations won’t have to choose between saving money or protecting their data. Greater adoption through our free plan will make these features more effective and enhance overall Internet safety.”
Cloudflare’s new free offerings empower organizations of all sizes and industries to bolster their defenses with the following capabilities:
– Enhanced Visibility Across Environments: Cloudflare HTTP, Security, and DNS Analytics offer a centralized view of traffic trends and analysis, helping organizations manage complexity and identify issues across their IT environments.
– Automated Detection of Suspicious Logins: Cloudflare Leaked Credentials Checks help identify unauthorized access attempts using a database of over 15 billion compromised credentials, in collaboration with Have I Been PWNED.
– API Abuse Prevention: With Cloudflare Schema Validation, organizations can safeguard their APIs from exposing sensitive information and mitigate security issues arising from poorly managed APIs.
– Protection from Third-Party Script Risks: Cloudflare’s Page Shield Script Monitor provides visibility into third-party scripts, ensuring that sensitive data is not compromised by unsecure or unmanaged code.
– Zero Trust Framework Support: Cloudflare One’s suite of products, including Magic Network Monitoring, SaaS Cloud Application Security, Data Loss Prevention, and Digital Experience Monitoring, is now available for free, facilitating the adoption of a zero trust security model.
These tools are now generally available to all Cloudflare customers and are enabled by default for those on the Free plan, reinforcing Cloudflare’s commitment to making high-quality security accessible to a broader range of organizations.
