Cloudflare, a company specializing in security, performance, and reliability for the Internet, has received recognition as a Leader in three independent research reports. The reports focus on different aspects of Cloudflare’s Internet-native Zero Trust SASE platform, known as Cloudflare One. The two research firms, Forrester and IDC, named Cloudflare as a Leader in the following reports:
1. The Forrester Wave: Enterprise Email Security, Q2 2023
2. IDC Marketscape: Worldwide Zero Trust Network Access 2023 Vendor Assessment
3. IDC Marketscape: Worldwide Network Edge Security as a Service 2023 Vendor Assessment
The traditional model of corporate networks has become outdated due to factors like mobile usage, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and the public cloud. Furthermore, the rapid growth of digital transformation and the widespread adoption of hybrid work models have increased the need for a more effective approach to security that consolidates security measures in the cloud. This shift in technology, coupled with the rise of multichannel threats like phishing, highlights the importance of adopting a new model that can address these challenges effectively.
Cloudflare’s CEO and co-founder, Matthew Prince, expressed pride in the company’s recognition as a comprehensive and deeply-integrated Zero Trust security and networking solution provider. He emphasized that Cloudflare’s Zero Trust platform encompasses all aspects of an organization’s applications, including email, which plays a crucial role in their approach. Being acknowledged as a leader across all three reports serves as confirmation that Cloudflare offers customers a complete Zero Trust platform.
The Forrester Wave: Enterprise Email Security report evaluated 15 top providers and acknowledged Cloudflare as a Leader. This recognition followed Cloudflare’s acquisition of Area 1 Security. Cloudflare received the highest possible score in nine criteria, including vision, innovation, antimalware and sandboxing, email filtering, and malicious email detection. Forrester noted that Cloudflare’s Zero Trust approach to email security is suitable for organizations seeking easily communicated data, insights, and in-depth content analysis and processing.
In the IDC MarketScape for Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Cloudflare was identified as a Leader. Cloudflare Access serves as the foundation of the company’s enterprise Zero Trust suite and plays a crucial role in their overall security strategy. The flexibility of Cloudflare Access allows for various deployment options, including cloud and on-premises, supporting a wide range of resource types such as managed or unmanaged user devices, IoT devices, and different server types, including serverless.
Cloudflare also earned the title of Leader in the IDC MarketScape for Network Edge Security as a Service (NESaaS). Cloudflare One integrates Cloudflare Access (for ZTNA), Cloudflare CASB, and Cloudflare Gateway (secure web gateway) into a single, integrated cloud security service. This combination enables Cloudflare One to address important use cases, including threat prevention and data protection across cloud, web, and private applications.
