Gregg Petersen has been named regional director for Cohesity’s Middle East and Africa (MEA) operations. Through Cohesity’s next-generation data management solutions, Petersen will focus on helping regional businesses in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, and South Africa to conveniently and effectively back up, manage, protect, and derive value from their data.
Petersen, a prominent figure in the MEA IT business, comes to Cohesity with 14 years of relevant expertise, including his most recent position at Rackspace. As customers in the MEA region embrace modern, cloud-native data management solutions, he will engage closely with channel and ecosystem partners.
Rawad Zaki, a Senior Account Manager for Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the Levant, will help with these efforts. Zaki most recently worked for Veeam in a similar capacity.
Cohesity’s next-generation data management technology assists customers combat the ongoing threat of ransomware attacks by providing exceptional data protection and recovery capabilities; accelerate the cloud migration; make it simple to manage workloads and data sources across hybrid and multicloud environments; and support businesses‘ efforts to comply with data compliance regulations.
Petersen will also collaborate with global technology alliance partners such as Cisco, HPE, and Pure Storage, as well as hyperscale cloud providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as a broader range of local distribution and reseller partners, service providers, and global systems integrators (GSIs).
