COMPUTEX 2024: AI, Sustainability Take Center Stage

COMPUTEX 2024 is set to launch tomorrow, June 4, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 and 2. The event will feature 1,500 exhibitors from around the globe, utilizing 4,500 booths. Organizers anticipate attracting 50,000 visitors, both local and international. The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA) hosted a global press conference today, showcasing groundbreaking technological innovations and discussing future tech trends.

 Emphasizing AI Computing Power

TAITRA Chairman James C. F. Huang highlighted Taiwan’s robust AI ecosystem and talent pool, stating, “Computing power is crucial in the AI era. Taiwan’s comprehensive AI infrastructure attracts global customers seeking ideal partners. COMPUTEX is dedicated to driving computing innovations, offering unprecedented possibilities.”

TCA Chairman Paul S.L. Peng added, “Taiwan’s ICT industry boasts over 40 years of R&D expertise and a stellar reputation. International buyers recognize us as efficient, reliable, and trustworthy partners, ideal for developing GenAI solutions globally.”

 Unveiling a New Era of Technology

The COMPUTEX Keynote, centered on “Connecting AI,” will cover AI Computing, Advanced Connectivity, Future Mobility, Immersive Reality, Sustainability, and Innovations. AMD Chairman and CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, will deliver the inaugural keynote. Other notable speakers include Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, MediaTek Vice Chairman and CEO Dr. Rick Tsai, Supermicro President and CEO Charles Liang, and NXP Semiconductors EVP and CTO Lars Reger, among others.

This year’s COMPUTEX Forum, themed “Let’s Talk Generative AI,” will feature tech giants like NVIDIA, Google, Synopsys, and AWS. Major manufacturers such as Micron, Arm, Seagate, Ampere, and Phison will discuss how hardware innovations support AI technology and propel industry growth.

 InnoVEX 2024: Leading Innovative Technology Trends

InnoVEX 2024, the start-up innovation hub, will host 400 start-ups from over 30 countries, showcasing AI, green technology, smart mobility, and semiconductor applications. Seven national pavilions, including Belgium/Flanders, Brazil, France, Australia/NSW Pavilion, Japan, Indonesia, and India, will participate.

Global accelerator Garage+ has selected 36 start-ups from AI & Data, Digital Solutions, Energy & Healthcare, and IoT & Manufacturing out of 294 applicants from 47 countries. Additionally, the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration will feature a themed pavilion, “Technology Empowers Green Ecology, Innovation Leads Sustainable Development,” highlighting advanced technologies and sustainable solutions.

 Introducing the Sustainable Design Award

In a push towards green transformation, COMPUTEX introduces the “Sustainable Design Award” to encourage exhibitors to integrate the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principles into their booths. This initiative builds on last year’s “ESG GO! Booth Signage” and “Earth Mission APP,” promoting low carbon, low pollution, and low energy consumption for a sustainable future.
