Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), in partnership with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, has successfully migrated its SAP Hana Enterprise Cloud to SAP RISE. This migration, hosted at Moro Hub’s green data centres, leverages cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. As a result, DEWA now benefits from enhanced scalability, flexibility, and innovation, all backed by a secure cloud infrastructure. This upgrade aims to improve the experience of DEWA’s stakeholders and help deliver exceptional services to its customers.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasized that the shift to SAP RISE enhances DEWA’s data storage capabilities, ensuring security within a cloud environment certified by the Dubai Electronic Security Centre. This move strengthens DEWA’s cybersecurity with advanced threat detection, while also paving the way for SAP’s innovations in generative AI, IoT, and machine learning, which will further support DEWA’s goal of providing world-class services.

“The migration aligns with our commitment to the UAE’s vision, focusing on digital transformation and AI to enhance service quality and operational performance,” said Al Tayer. “This initiative supports the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 and the Dubai 10X initiative, placing Dubai at the forefront of global innovation.”

Since 2018, Moro Hub has been a certified provider of the SAP Hana Enterprise Cloud, and in 2022, it became the first locally accredited RISE partner in the UAE. Hosted at Moro Hub’s green data centre, which holds the Guinness World Record as the largest solar-powered data centre in the world, the migration signifies a major leap in DEWA’s digital transformation journey.
