Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China’s National Innovation Center par Excellence (NICE) to accelerate technology adoption and innovation.

This strategic alliance aims to reinforce Dubai’s position as a global leader in industrial innovation, fostering investment opportunities and promoting private-sector participation in research and development. The collaboration will enhance research infrastructure essential for future industrial clusters, paving the way for growth within a knowledge-based, technology-driven economy and positioning Dubai as a key global hub for research and innovation.

The MoU was signed by Abdulaziz AlJaziri, Deputy CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, and Dr. Qing Liu, Director of NICE, during the SuperBridge Summit 2024 in Dubai.

The agreement outlines avenues for cooperation, focusing on knowledge transfer, talent attraction and empowerment, competency retention, and facilitating mutual market access.

Abdulaziz AlJaziri emphasized the importance of such partnerships in driving Dubai’s innovation-forward strategy: “Our collaboration with NICE marks a significant step in shaping the future of innovation. This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering an ecosystem that empowers talent and promotes research, positioning Dubai as a pivotal player in global research and development. Through this alliance, we will unlock new growth avenues, redefining possibilities in a rapidly evolving economy.”

Dr. Qing Liu expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting Dubai’s favorable environment for innovation: “Through our strategic collaboration with Dubai Future Foundation, we aim to advance the R&D-as-an-industry model in Dubai. The UAE’s cultural openness, pro-business policies, and talent-friendly approach make it a global hub for innovation. Together with DFF, we can harness the full potential of Dubai’s R&D sector, contributing to productivity growth and long-term economic transformation both regionally and globally.
