The Dubai Future Forum 2024, the world’s largest gathering of futurists, experts, and organizations specializing in future design, is set to take place at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. This prestigious event will feature over 70 keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops that address critical issues facing individuals, societies, and the planet. With participation from more than 150 global speakers and 2,500 experts from 100 countries, the Dubai Future Forum will be a landmark event shaping the future of humanity.
Organized by the Dubai Future Foundation under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the forum will also host a series of city-wide activations for the first time. These activations will allow residents and visitors to engage with the discussions and contribute to the global conversation on future trends and solutions.
The forum will kick off with thought-provoking sessions, including the Arab-driven panel “From Deep Space to Deep Ocean: A Future of Exploration and Discovery,” featuring notable figures such as Sarah Sabry, the first Arab astronaut, and Prof Oussama Khatib, inventor of the OceanOneK deep-sea exploration robot. Other panels, including “Concepts of Time: How Do They Shape Our Future?” and a keynote by Dr. Parag Khanna, Founder of AlphaGeo, will set the stage for discussions on humanity’s evolving future.
Notable speakers include Dr. Jordan Nguyen, biomedical engineer and founder of Psykinetic, who will explore how technology can address humanity’s most pressing challenges. The forum will also feature a critical fireside chat titled “Making the Case: Which Way to the Future?” with HE Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, and Amy Webb, CEO of the Future Today Institute.
The Dubai Future Forum will not be confined to the Museum of the Future, with events extending to unique venues across the city. From 18 to 21 November, Dubai residents and visitors can participate in city-wide activations, including film screenings at Cinema Akil and immersive workshops at The Courtyard in Al Qouz. These events will explore futuristic worlds and technological advancements through cinematic storytelling and discussions on how to shape a better future.
Workshops like “Shaping Health Futures” with the WHO, “Future of Making” by ARUP, and “Flipping the Script: How Can Films Shape Positive AI Futures?” will offer deeper insights into solving global challenges. The “Play-Full Futures” activation will also demonstrate how communities are integrated into future design, encouraging creativity and collaboration.
Day two of the forum will feature panels such as “Experiences of the Future: How Can They Inspire Change Today?” and “The Future of Humanity in Time and Space.” Liam Young, Bo Victor Nylund from UNICEF, and futurists like Paul Saffo and Jay Ogilvy will explore the role of foresight in shaping a positive future. Workshops like “Futures Imaginarium” will also focus on building resilient societies through strategic decision-making.
The “Futures of Childhood in a Changing World” exhibition by UNICEF at the Museum of the Future will highlight the importance of ensuring a better future for children in a rapidly changing world.
The Dubai Future Forum will also showcase 100 innovative prototypes as part of the Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity initiative.
