Dynabook Europe GmbH has made some senior level management appointments to take the business in the Middle East and Africa region to the next level. Christoph Dobler, has been promoted to Head of Commercial Operations EMEA and Head of Region Middle East & Africa, and he has appointed Philip Ashkar to the post of Business Development Manager MEA.
“Christoph has been a valued part of our Operations and Business Planning team for six years, where he has achieved fantastic results and we couldn’t be happier that he is now heading up the Middle East and Africa business, in addition to leading commercial operations for the entire EMEA region. We are confident that, under his leadership, his new team will achieve great success, bringing an exciting, fresh and local perspective to the dynabook operation in the MEA, which is such a strategically important region for us,” said Damian Jaume, President of Dynabook Europe GmbH.
Speaking about the appointment of Philip Ashkar, Christoph Dobler said “Philip is a respected and skilled industry veteran with a deep rooted connection to the Middle East region, which is vital to dynabook’s future success. We are fortunate to benefit from his extensive experience in sales and marketing in all channels with some of the leading global brands. His appointment will help us expand our presence and strengthen our foothold there”.
Based in Beirut, Lebanon, Ashkar is a veteran of the regional IT industry, with a career spanning 35 years, heading teams at Seven Seas Computers, Victor Microsystems, Compaq and hp before setting up his own professional consultancy business in London, Vantage Coign, in 2011.
Speaking about his move to dynabook, Ashkar said “I am excited to take on this fresh challenge with Dynabook at a time when the business goes from strength to strength, and am also delighted to be returning home to the Middle East. There are so many exciting developments in the pipeline, and the region is ripe with the potential to grow with us, by taking advantage of the increased mobility, security and productivity that the dynabook range of B2B solutions and products affords them.”
Additional team members have also been recruited to provide further support and focus to the region, and there are plans in the pipeline to hold an online event for trade and media partners to meet the extended team and discuss future plans, in place of a physical presence at GITEX 2020.
