This time is relevant to revisit the humble beginning of the most celebrated technology exhibition in the region in the context of the Golden Jubilee of the UAE.

The coveted show began in a small area of Dubai World Trade Centre in 1981. But it has now filled the entire DWTC complex, consisting of 10 exhibition halls comprising a million feet of exhibition space. The year 2021 will be marked as a remarkable milestone both in the history of the country and GITEX. It has been widely recognized that Vision Africa, Vision Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Vision UAE Projects of the 50, Vision GCC — Bahrain & Oman are the most attractive session that this edition of GITEX presents.

The 50 years legacy made the country one of the most celebrated nations in the world as the data shows that the UAE’s Gross Domestic Product is now Dh1.57 trillion—up from Dh11 billion in 1973, giving the UAE the world’s seventh-highest GDP per capita. Five decades ago, only 48% of UAE adults were literate, but today over 95% are literate. Educational attainment is also much higher, in total the UAE has 624 English-medium international schools, the second-highest in the world. Life expectancy averages 75 years for men and 80 years for women. From seven hospitals, there are now over 100. Rapid modernization is reflected in the country’s world-class infrastructure, and in communications where the UAE is ranked first in fiber-to-home.

The UAE Centennial 2021 Project aims to make the country the best in the world by 2071 based on the following four pillars: Future-focused government, Excellent education, Diversified knowledge economy, Happy and cohesive society.

For TECHx Media, GITEX is one of its most important seasons to network with all the technology organizations who actively participate in the region’s development for a futuristic living culture. Our ‘Focused Region’ has been well defined: Middle East and African countries. We closely work with the entire stakeholders of the technology ecosystem. TECHx was set up in 2019 on a special mission to collaborate with 100 universities, creatively collaborate with both tech giants and startups. Our International Student Forum will soon have 100000 students associating in various internships and other initiatives to develop them as ‘Leaders of the Future’. We believe that by working closely with various government institutions, we can expedite the region’s objective of developing key governance for the benefit of the people. TECHx seeks to bring 500000 technology experts together in a large network platform. TECHx is striving to spread the latest information, news and market pulse on technology affairs primarily in the Arabic language, and broadly in English language. It is a one-stop place for the latest technology knowledge sharing. In a short span of time, we have created a reading culture among our users who believe in technology both spiritually and materialistically.

We stand for ‘Evangelising Technology’ as you can find on the front door of our mission room.
