The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has announced a comprehensive digital transformation strategy for 2023-2030, unveiling 24 cutting-edge initiatives. These initiatives span seven key areas: Digital Twin, Metaverse, Robotics, Ecosystems, Enterprise Solutions, AI, and Data. This marks the first phase of RTA’s Digital Strategy, aimed at establishing an agile and scalable digital infrastructure to position Dubai as the world’s smartest city.

The announcement was made at a high-profile event attended by over 300 technical experts from various companies, including representatives from Gartner and senior RTA officials. This event signifies the beginning of a new era in digital transformation, emphasizing the integration of advanced technologies across Dubai.

The event featured a series of workshops designed to foster collaboration and innovation. These workshops provided a platform for dynamic partnerships and interactive sessions, focusing on RTA’s digital portfolio for the next seven years. Key areas of focus included Digital Twins, Metaverses, Robotics, Ecosystems, Enterprise Solutions, AI, and Data, all crucial for advancing RTA’s tech-driven projects.

Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO of the Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, highlighted RTA’s commitment to achieving its Digital Vision. He outlined the steps towards creating Dubai’s futuristic transportation landscape by adopting innovative transport solutions, integrating smart city technologies, and leveraging digital advancements to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability. “Through strategic collaborations and visionary initiatives, RTA continues to drive progress towards a digitally empowered future,” Al Mudharreb stated.

Al Mudharreb also emphasized that this strategic plan outlines the essential steps for digital integration, addresses challenges, and sets ambitious goals for the future. Representatives from Gartner provided valuable insights into the evolving digital landscape, highlighting strategic directions for RTA’s technological advancements.
