ADIPEC 2024 Sets Record, Drives Energy Transformation

ADIPEC 2024 has solidified its status as one of the world’s most influential energy events, attracting a record 205,139 participants from 172 countries. This year’s event, held under the theme ‘Connecting Minds. Transforming Energy’, marked four decades of energy leadership, highlighting the UAE’s role as a global hub for energy, technology, and innovation.

The 40th edition saw a significant rise in global participation, with over 20,000 additional attendees compared to 2023, showcasing the event’s growing influence and the UAE’s convening power. The event featured 370 sessions with more than 1,800 speakers, including 40 international ministers, discussing the economic opportunities driven by cross-sector collaboration.

A major highlight was the unveiling of ADIPEC’s most successful edition to date, generating over US$10 billion in cross-sector deals, with strategic partnerships in areas like AI, energy, and sustainability. Notable deals included ADNOC Drilling’s acquisition of a 95% stake in Deep Well Services for $223 million and TA’ZIZ’s award of $2 billion for essential infrastructure at Al Ruwais Industrial City.

Tayba Al Hashemi, Chair of ADIPEC 2024, praised the event’s success, emphasizing its focus on AI’s transformative potential for the energy sector. “ADIPEC 2024 has provided a global platform to unlock economic opportunities through collaboration,” said Al Hashemi. “We look forward to an even more impactful ADIPEC in 2025.”

The ENACT Majlis, hosted by H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, brought together 80 global leaders to discuss the AI-Energy-Climate Nexus, exploring the interconnectedness of energy and AI in addressing global challenges. ADIPEC also introduced its inaugural AI Zone, demonstrating how AI can drive energy efficiency and meet the growing demands of the sector.

The exhibition showcased more than 2,200 exhibitors across 16 halls, with a strong focus on innovation. AI, digitalization, and automation were central themes, with 133 exhibitors highlighting solutions to fast-track the energy transition.

Key discussions also centered on the importance of collaboration and equitable financing in energy development. Indian Minister of Petroleum, H.E. Shri Hardeep S Puri, emphasized the need for a harmonious coexistence of green energy and affordable fuels to support the Global South’s transition.

The inaugural Finance & Investment Conference addressed the need for new financing frameworks to support a fair and inclusive energy ecosystem. Discussions focused on the disparity between capital flows and the investment required for sustainable energy development.

Looking ahead, the 41st edition of ADIPEC will be held from November 3-6, 2025. The event will continue to foster dialogue and partnerships, driving the energy sector’s mission to decarbonize and shape a sustainable future for global energy systems.
