Michael Callahan has been appointed as Acronis’ new Chief Marketing Officer. Callahan brings a wealth of sales and marketing experience to the team, having previously held top leadership positions at McAfee, HP, and Juniper, as well as most recently as the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Cofense.

As Acronis’ Chief Marketing Officer, Callahan will strengthen the company’s global brand while promoting the Cyber Protect Cloud Platform. Organizations want an efficient security solution to stop the ever-evolving dangers as COVID-19 accelerates digital transformation solutions and migration to cloud and hybrid solutions. In addition, Callahan will contribute to Acronis’ commitment to developing the next generation of tech leaders through outreach programmes around the world, particularly in underserved areas.

“Michael will build on the past success and push Acronis’ marketing team to even greater achievements,” said Patrick Pulvermueller, Chief Executive Officer at Acronis.

He added,  “Michael brings more than 20 years of marketing leadership from some of the most well-known companies in the industry, and will be instrumental in solidifying Acronis’ position as a leader in endpoint security. His track record of driving impressive growth from the brands he developed excites us for what is to come under his leadership and expertise.”

“I’m very excited to be joining Acronis at a time when the value of our solutions is rapidly gaining traction in the market resulting in exceptionally fast growth that allows us to continue to invest in solutions to our customers’ problems. As the world moves towards a cloud-based digital ecosystem, it’s more important than ever to make sure cybersecurity solutions effectively stop threats so security leaders can protect their organizations,” said Callahan.

Callahan is a data-driven marketing executive with substantial experience in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) security space, having held senior positions at McAfee, HP, Firemon, and Zimperium, where he successfully managed and led worldwide teams. This is critical experience for this position because Acronis prides itself on being a globally linked company with offices and people all over the world, allowing the company to reach a wider audience and expand its grasp on the cyber security industries.

Michael will continue to raise Acronis’ profile as a leader in cyber protection by emphasising the benefits of Acronis’ security solutions, such as Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, which are meant to be supplied as a service by service providers or corporations defending their businesses.

With the Acronis US cloud business expanding 77 percent year over year and Acronis Cyber Protect protecting over 750,000 enterprises, 2021 was the most successful year in Acronis history. To keep the momentum going in 2022, Callahan will capitalise on the accomplishments of 2021, including the $250 million investment from CVC Partners in May of last year to improve Acronis’ go-to-market initiatives by growing its vast partner network of managed service providers (MSPs).
