TECHx: Congratulations on the release of HONOR 70! What changes did you make to improve the user experience of the device?

Zac: The HONOR N series is where we put our most innovative technology and transformative user experiences. We always take a great leap forward in every new HONOR N series product we release, and the HONOR 70 is no different. Compared with HONOR 50, the HONOR 70 is empowered with more significant breakthroughs in technology, delivering upgrades in performance, camera technology, and design.

The HONOR 70 has been designed for today’s tech-savvy generation. The HONOR 70 introduces the industry’s first Solo Cut Mode for the ultimate vlogging experience, allowing users to produce portrait vlogs that spotlight a specific person in a group video. Equipped with Person Autofocus Tracking Technology, Solo Cut Mode features Dual Video Streaming, whichh produces a dedicated video with a solo view of the subject being spotlighted alongside the main group video with full view, perfect for content creators who want to choose the hero of their story.

TECHx: What does it have to offer vloggers?

Zac: With the emergence of video platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, more young people around the world are prompted to shoot and share more videos. As a result, young consumers are no longer satisfied with only pictures but prefer filming videos to record the beautiful and meaningful moments in their lives.

To offer budding content creators even more choices and address some pain points associated with vlogging, limited shooting modes and editing capabilities, the HONOR 70 has been designed to empower the younger generation to create engaging content with a device that allows users to stay on trend and offers endless possibilities for storytelling.

With the ambition to deliver impressive features for consumers, including fun and intelligent vlogging capabilities, the HONOR 70 introduces the first-ever Solo Cut Mode feature. Boasting specialized Person Autofocus Tracking Technology, Solo Cut Mode allows users to spotlight a specific person in a group video, taking the vlogging experience to a whole new level in the industry.

Users can switch between front and rear cameras while filming using the Multi-Video mode, delivering a one-take recording technique that is commonly used in the film industry. With the flexibility to change between cameras without interruptions, the HONOR 70 gives users greater freedom and flexibility to create video content conveniently and freely.

TECHx: Smartphone security is one of the most pressing concerns for users; how do you address these concerns in the new HONOR 70?

Zac: As a consumer-centric company, HONOR is committed to innovating and challenging industry benchmarks, solving users’ paint points and bringing them best-in-class products.

The All-New HONOR 70 is the first HONOR N Series smartphone to boast the latest HONOR Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12, offering a range of enhanced, customized features and advanced privacy, to provide an original, secure, and more personalized experience than ever before.

TECHx: The smartphone market is currently the most competitive in the world. What trends do you anticipate in the smartphone industry over the next two to three years?

Zac: Over the next few years, we will see smartphones increasingly inspired by the digital world, when it comes to color, materials, and finishes, with aesthetics continuing to become bolder and designed to make an impact.

Young audiences will continue to have a desire for beautiful form and function when it comes to their devices, highlighting the importance of craftsmanship in tech, giving attention to detail to help set devices apart and be seen as items worthy of investment.

As the physical and virtual world become more intertwined, smartphones will need to cater to expressive design to make tech feel more personal to the user

Short-form videos have rapidly grown in popularity in recent years with millions of young people eager to vlog their travel, lifestyle, and hobbies. Short-form Platforms have increased this desire and with 85% of users spending their time watching, taking, and sharing videos, we can only expect this to grow. As a result, young consumers are no longer satisfied with only pictures but prefer filming videos to record the beautiful and meaningful moments in their lives

TECHx: Are there any new HONOR device launches planned in the coming months?
Zac: This month, we launched the HONOR MagicBook X 14 and 15 D series, which come equipped with the new Intel® CoreTM Processor. At the launch event, HONOR 70 also introduced the latest and most awaited HONOR product — the HONOR Pad 8, a tablet targeted toward students and working professionals.
