Freshworks Appoints Mika Yamamoto as Chief Customer and Marketing Officer

Freshworks Inc., has officially named Mika Yamamoto as the Chief Customer and Marketing Officer of the company. In this role, she will oversee the global marketing and customer experience teams. Yamamoto brings a wealth of experience, having previously held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Customer Engagement Officer at F5 (NASDAQ: FFIV). In that capacity, she led initiatives in data, marketing, digital transformation, and customer experience across products, segments, channels, and geographies.

Dennis Woodside, President at Freshworks, praised Yamamoto’s unique perspective derived from her dual roles as CMO and CXO, resulting in innovative and measurable changes for employees, customers, and prospects. He emphasized her proven track record of leading diverse global customer experience teams and achieving outstanding go-to-market results at prominent technology companies. Woodside highlighted Yamamoto’s expertise and commitment to building and scaling enduring companies, making her a valuable addition to the Freshworks leadership team.

Before her tenure at F5, Yamamoto served as the Global President of Marketo and later as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Marketo at Adobe following its acquisition. Her professional journey also includes roles as Chief Digital Marketing Officer and CMO of SMB for SAP, as well as senior leadership positions at Amazon Books, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Stores, Gartner, and Accenture.

Expressing her enthusiasm for joining Freshworks, Yamamoto stated her excitement about contributing to the company’s path to becoming a multi-billion-dollar software entity. She emphasized her passion for serving a specific segment of companies and individuals. Yamamoto highlighted her career spent transforming go-to-market approaches and customer experiences within global organizations to drive growth. She believes that integrating the end-to-end customer experience with marketing and customer success teams at Freshworks will accelerate growth while prioritizing customer-centric values.

Mika Yamamoto holds a B.A. in Commerce with a focus on Economics and Marketing from Queen’s University in Canada. Additionally, she actively participates on the boards of BlackLine, the Rainier Valley Food Bank, and the United Way of King County. Yamamoto officially joined the Freshworks executive team on November 20 and reports directly to Freshworks’ CEO and Founder Girish Mathrubootham, as well as President Dennis Woodside.
