Transformative health tech solutions took center stage at GITEX GLOBAL’s DIGI_HEALTH 5.0 in Dubai, where thousands of tech enthusiasts and healthcare pioneers gathered at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) for a day dedicated to the future of health discussions.

As the world’s largest tech event, GITEX GLOBAL showcased the latest AI-driven digital health and health tech solutions, highlighting innovations that are reshaping patient care globally. The event aligns with the UAE government’s pioneering efforts to advance the digital health ecosystem, with the UAE’s digital health market projected to reach USD $487.30 million by year’s end. This initiative supports Dubai’s commitment to adopting digital practices that benefit both medical professionals and patients.

With AI-powered healthcare investments expected to constitute 20% of global healthcare spending by year’s end, GITEX GLOBAL provided a platform for industry leaders to explore how AI is revolutionizing healthcare delivery and enhancing patient outcomes. DIGI_HEALTH 5.0 brought together global professionals and leaders to discuss the transformative impact of innovative technologies on daily operations, attracting major names in the industry, including Biogen, Roche, Sanofi, Microsoft, M42, and Lenovo, alongside established medical institutions like Samsung Medical Centre and Harvard Medical School.

Pioneering Robotics and AI in Health Tech

The evolving role of robotics in health tech was a key focus of the showcase and conference program. Denis Ledenkof, Founder of Robosculptor, highlighted how AI-powered robotics is transforming patient care through an autonomous platform developed by health industry experts. He stated, “AI is a powerful tool leading to better patient preferences. Robotic treatments improve the patient experience by providing access to a wider range of therapies and enhancing accessibility.”

Ledenkof showcased an application akin to a taxi or delivery app that allows users to scan for treatments, making healthcare information more accessible.

Alex Aliper, Co-Founder and President of Insilico Medicine, a Hong Kong-based digital health unicorn, discussed how precision medicine, powered by AI, is revolutionizing genetic profiles, with the potential to transform treatments for previously incurable diseases.

 Advancements in Neurology

Aneesh Singhal, M.D., Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, discussed promising advancements in neurology. Following a study indicating that AI can reduce the risk of new vascular events by 25.6% in stroke patients, Singhal presented findings from the Golden Bridge II trial, demonstrating that an AI-based clinical decision support system significantly improves care quality for patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS).

Jong-Soo Choi, Chief Technology Officer at Samsung Medical Centre, shared insights into cutting-edge technologies like Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and gene therapy, setting the stage for the next wave of healthcare innovations.

 Groundbreaking Innovations Unveiled

Dubai’s deep tech company Xpanceo made headlines with the introduction of smart contact lenses for 3D imaging and data reading, showcasing wireless data transmission capabilities integrated directly into the lens. These innovations promise to redefine real-time data perception, pushing the digital health landscape into a new era of smart diagnostics.
