Instagram, owned by Meta, has interactions in the form of following each other. One person can follow another person but that does not necessitate that the other person follows back unlike Facebook where interactions are based on mutual friend requests.

The foundation used by Instagram has its pros and cons but that does not address the issue of unfollowers. When a user sees a fall in its followers it is very hard to determine who all left as the photo and video sharing platform does not come with an in-built tool or feature that can show us who all left.

However, this issue can be fixed via third-party apps. There are plenty of apps that are available in the Play store and App store. One such app is FollowMeter which allows users to know who unfollowed with a super easy interface.

Here’s how you can check insights via FollowMeter:

Users on their iOS or Android smartphone must first download and install FollowMeter.

They must sign into their Instagram account to set up the app; users can do this by tapping the “Login” button.

The main screen of the app will then be displayed, where users may control their followers using a variety of choices. Unfollowers are typically tracked using the “Unfollowers” settings, however, beginners must go to the “Not following back” option to find unfollowers.

How to check the followers’ list manually

By checking your own followers’ list:

Open Instagram and move to the profile section.

Users will find the followers option near the top, where tapping it will open a list of all people that follow them.

They can search for the user who they think has unfollowed them via the search bar. If the name does not pop that means that the users have unfollowed them.

If unsure about the name, simply go through the list to find the user.
