Rackspace Technology®, a provider of end-to-end multicloud technology solutions, welcomes the launch of AWS Middle East (UAE) Region, which will help accelerate innovation and digital transformation in the UAE (UAE). The new AWS Middle East (UAE) Region consists of three Availability Zones (AZs) and joins the existing AWS Region in Bahrain, which was launched in 2019. The new AWS Region provides organizations with even more options for running applications and serving end users from data centers in the UAE, leveraging advanced AWS technologies to drive innovation.

Rackspace Technology is an AWS Premier Consulting Partner with over 1,800 AWS cloud certifications worldwide. It has a strong AWS presence in the Middle East, with an impressive client list that includes BFC Group, the leading money transfer and currency exchange provider in the Kingdom of Bahrain, for whom it assisted in the migration of its core application and supporting systems to AWS public cloud, as well as ongoing management and consultancy services.

George Pawlyszyn, General Manager for Middle East and Africa, at Rackspace Technology said: “As a Premier Consulting Partner, we’re proud to be supporting the launch of AWS’s second Middle Eastern region. We are growing quickly across the Middle East and this is an important step for us in enabling our clients’ success with this new and important option.”

AWS Regions are made up of Availability Zones, which place infrastructure in distinct geographic locations. Availability Zones are spaced far enough apart to ensure customer business continuity while remaining close enough to provide low latency for high availability applications that use multiple Availability Zones. Each Availability Zone is self-contained in terms of power, cooling, and physical security, and is linked by redundant, ultra-low latency networks. AWS customers who prioritize high availability can design their applications to run in multiple Availability Zones for even greater fault tolerance. With the launch of the AWS Middle East (UAE) Region, local customers with data residency requirements will be able to securely store data in the UAE, while experiencing even lower latency across the country.
