In response to the growing sophistication of malware attacks and the increasing migration of businesses to the cloud, SentinelOne, the leading autonomous cybersecurity provider, has introduced its Cloud Data Security product line. This launch includes the general availability of two initial products: Threat Detection for Amazon S3 and Threat Detection for NetApp. These cutting-edge solutions aim to bolster organizations’ defenses against malware spread across their cloud environments and enterprise networks, specifically for those using Amazon S3 object storage and NetApp file storage.

The Cloud Data Security products are part of SentinelOne’s Singularity™ Cloud product family, which complements the existing Cloud Workload Security product line. The latter already enables customers to detect, investigate, and automatically resolve threats in their servers and containers across public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.

Modern Challenges Require Modern Solutions

The importance of safeguarding data stored in cloud object storage and network-attached storage cannot be understated, as it is vital for business continuity. However, protecting these vast volumes of files and objects, often numbering in the millions or billions, while maintaining strict latency and performance requirements for operational workloads, presents significant challenges. Moreover, with malware continually evolving, conventional security measures are no longer sufficient.

Ely Kahn, Vice President of Product Management, Cloud Security, and AI/ML at SentinelOne, emphasized the need for a modern approach to ensure malware-free cloud storage and workloads.

Streamlined Cloud Security

Leveraging their industry-leading threat detection technology deployed on millions of endpoints, SentinelOne’s Threat Detection for NetApp and Amazon S3 automatically scans every file added to NetApp and Amazon S3 storage for file-borne and zero-day malware. When a malicious file is detected, SentinelOne takes immediate action by automatically remediating and quarantining it, thus ensuring clean data buckets and enhanced user safety.
