Sony Middle East & Africa has announced the World of Film initiative to commemorate Sony’s heritage and ongoing support to the filmmaking industry. Sony is devoted to their creative journey every step of the way through the strength of their Alpha series interchangeable lens cameras and Cinema Line camera series, whether it is participation with high-profile blockbuster studios or an individual producing an indie film. The campaign will run until the end of the year, beginning on August 2, 2021.

Sonys Film Legacy

Sony has been pushing the frontiers of filmmaking and staying at the forefront of cutting-edge cinematic technology for decades. Sony launched the HDW F900, the world’s first digital cinema camera, to Hollywood in 2000. The F900 was utilised to shoot blockbuster films in 100 percent digital cinematography, such as Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Hundreds of theatrical, broadcast, cable, and streaming releases have been captured using Sony’s industry-leading VENICE. Sony’s film industry DNA and exceptional digital imaging prowess have been combined to create powerful creative tools like the Cinema Line and Alpha Series cameras, which capture emotion and unleash the true power of visual storytelling.
