VMware has delivered ‘cloud-smart’ strategy for the multi-cloud era at VMworld 2021. The company announced the launch of VMware Cross-Cloud services at VMworld 2021, as part of its strategy to help customers navigate the multi-cloud era. This collection of integrated services will assist digital businesses in achieving a faster and smarter path to the cloud, allowing customers to build, run, and better secure apps across any cloud with freedom and flexibility.

Today, the average company uses about 500 applications to conduct its operations, and those apps are spread across multiple clouds. Seventy-five percent of VMware customers use two or more public clouds, while forty percent use three or more.  This multi-cloud strategy boosts app velocity and creativity while also making businesses more agile and resilient. A multi-cloud environment, on the other hand, is significantly more diversified, complicated, and distributed than anything that businesses have ever managed. This complexity frequently causes trade-offs between speed and risk management, resulting in delayed execution and higher expenses.VMware’s strategy is built to help customers eliminate thetough choices and challenges, by giving thema powerful combination of freedom and control in their multi-cloud business.

“Multi-cloud is the digital business model for the next 20 years,as entire industries reinvent themselves,” said Raghu Raghuram, chief executive officer, VMware.

Further said, “It’s no longer about a ‘cloud first’ approach –it’s about being ‘cloud smart’. Organizations should have the freedom to choosethe ’right’ cloud, based on their strategic business goals.With our cloud-agnostic approach, we are uniquely positioned to meet our customers where they are and take them where they want to go. We giveevery organization the power to accelerate their innovation and control their own destiny in themulti-cloud era.”

“During the past year, organizations fully embraced digital transformation as they were forced to respond to many dramatic changes, accelerating their innovation timelines at record paces,” said Richard Villars, Group Vice President, IDC. “Organizations rely heavily on cloud technologies to evolve and scale as they pivot to competing in a digital-first economy. VMware’s multi-cloud-focused strategy puts it in a strong position to help enterprises take full advantage of multiple clouds and their resources in their own datacenters to improve resiliency and the trusted use of technology for delivery of better experiences and business outcomes.”

VMware Cross-Cloud services for all Apps

VMware Cross-Cloud services will provide three major benefits to clients as they traverse the multi-cloud era: a faster transition to the cloud, cost efficiency, flexibility, and control across any cloud. VMware Cross-Cloud Services extends VMware’s product portfolio’s capabilities for a multi-cloud world, allowing clients to pick and select the services they need on the cloud of their choice to meet changing business demands. VMware Cross-Cloud services are made up of five main components:

• A cutting-edge platform for developing and deploying cloud-native applications;

• Infrastructure for running and operating enterprise apps in the cloud;

• Cloud management, which monitors and manages app performance and costs across many clouds;

• Security and networking that connects and secures all apps across the full multi-cloud business;

• A digital workplace for distributed workers, as well as edge solutions for deploying and managing edge-native apps.
