Ericsson Unveils Enterprise 5G Strategy for Seamless Connectivity

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has announced its new Enterprise 5G strategy, which includes private 5G and neutral host 5G solutions designed to deliver business-critical connectivity for both operational and public-facing enterprise environments. This innovative approach helps businesses improve automation, enhance safety, and boost operational efficiencies.

Manish Tiwari, Head of Private Cellular Networks, Enterprise Wireless Solutions at Ericsson, highlighted the growing need for advanced connectivity, noting that technologies like Wi-Fi and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) often fall short in meeting enterprise demands. Ericsson’s Enterprise 5G portfolio addresses these gaps by offering flexible solutions that leverage the company’s world-class radio, software, and managed operations capabilities.

The portfolio includes the Ericsson Private 5G, a converged 4G/5G solution offering industry and licensed spectrum support; Ericsson Private 5G Compact, a U.S. CBRS-based solution tailored for enterprises needing reliable connectivity where Wi-Fi underperforms; and Ericsson Enterprise 5G Coverage, a neutral host solution certified by all major U.S. carriers, providing a scalable, cost-efficient alternative to legacy DAS systems.

Ericsson’s Enterprise 5G solutions also integrate its broader Radio Access Network (RAN) portfolio, which includes the Radio Dot System for indoor deployments and small cell radios for outdoor environments. To reduce acquisition costs, Ericsson offers a subscription-based pricing model with optional service and feature add-ons. The company also provides pre- and post-sales support, including vertical expertise and training for channel partners, enabling enterprise customers to focus on business outcomes and innovation.

All of Ericsson’s enterprise solutions, including Enterprise 5G, Wireless WAN, and SASE, are managed via NetCloud Manager, a cloud-based platform that simplifies deployments, configuration, and lifecycle management. With innovative features like AIOps-driven insights and indoor 5G positioning, Ericsson’s solutions make it easy for enterprises to enhance network performance and streamline operations.

Pablo Tomasi, Principal Analyst for Private Networks and Enterprise 5G at Omdia, emphasized the importance of Ericsson’s approach in addressing growing enterprise demand for secure, high-performance connectivity. He noted that Ericsson’s unified approach to enterprise 5G is crucial in enabling businesses to leverage 5G for transformative results.

In a related announcement, Ericsson also introduced new networked devices to complement its private LTE, 5G, and coverage extension solutions, ensuring reliable connectivity where wired networks fall short.
