F5 has launched a new Point of Presence (PoP) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), enhancing its global network capabilities. This new PoP is integrated into F5’s advanced cloud-native platform, which is designed to connect and secure distributed applications across multicloud and edge environments.

This expansion is expected to significantly benefit both existing and future customers in the region by optimizing application-to-application connectivity and security. F5’s PoPs are recognized for consolidating various services across traditional and microservices applications, simplifying app and API management, security, and network connectivity.

Key features of the new PoP include:

– High Capacity: Provides over 15 terabits per second (Tbps) of peered capacity.

– Private Backbone: Interconnected using a dedicated, redundant private backbone with multiple transit and peering connections.

– Performance and Latency: Supports high-performance and latency-sensitive workloads.

The F5 Distributed Cloud Platform at the UAE PoP offers:

– Routing and SD-WAN Termination: Efficient traffic management and connectivity.

– Load Balancing: Improved traffic distribution.

– Multi-Layer Security: Global DDoS protection and advanced security measures.

– Kubernetes-Based App Orchestration: Streamlined management of containerized applications.

– Globally Distributed App Gateway: Enhanced access and security for applications.

Additional security features include:

– DDoS Protection: Automatic defense against Layer 3 to Layer 7 DDoS attacks.

– Network Security: Advanced firewall and anomaly detection for Layer 3 and Layer 4, with private connectivity options.

– Application Security: Protection for APIs and applications using AI/ML techniques and threat feeds.

– Physical Security: High-standard security protocols at major colocation sites.

F5’s new UAE PoP underscores its commitment to providing robust, scalable, and secure solutions for application and API management in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
