F5 is set to showcase its latest advancements in API security, multicloud networking, and AI solutions at GITEX Global 2024. The company aims to address the evolving needs of enterprises managing complex digital environments.
According to F5’s 2024 State of Application Strategy (SOAS) Report, a staggering 88% of enterprises are now deploying apps and APIs across a mix of on-premises, cloud, and edge environments. The report underscores the increasing complexity faced by organizations, with over one-third (38%) operating apps across six or more diverse environments—nearly double the previous year’s figure.
At the forefront of addressing these challenges, F5 presents its comprehensive and AI-ready application and API security suite, which includes:
– F5 Distributed Cloud Services Web Application Scanning: This solution offers continuous and effortless identification of all apps and APIs across an organization’s digital landscape. Featuring an intuitive and comprehensive web app scanner, it automates the scanning process and delivers in-depth analysis to identify potential vulnerabilities, ensuring a robust defense against cyber threats.
– F5 BIG-IP Next Web Application Firewall (WAF): Enhancing security posture across a dynamic threat landscape, this WAF protects APIs and web apps from both human and bot-driven attacks. It supports “security as code,” facilitating seamless transitions from testing to production environments while integrating app and API protections early in the development pipeline.
– F5 NGINX App Protect WAF: Designed for Kubernetes-based applications in public clouds and on-premises environments, this solution brings advanced app security features with a smaller footprint, reducing attack surfaces by separating control and data planes.
“Streamlined operations across distributed environments is more important than ever before. At GITEX Global, we’re doubling down on how we’re simplifying the management and security of the huge numbers of applications and APIs that are at the heart of modern AI-driven digital businesses,” said Mohammed Abukhater, RVP for the Middle East, Türkiye and Africa at F5.
Additionally, F5 will introduce F5 NGINX One, a new solution combining advanced load balancing, web and application server capabilities, API gateway functionalities, and security features into a unified package. This offering simplifies the management and security of NGINX instances and NGINX Open Source through a single cloud management interface, accelerating application delivery and enhancing visibility.
F5’s Strategic Collaboration with Intel
F5 will also highlight its collaboration with Intel to enhance AI deployments. The joint solution integrates F5’s NGINX Plus with the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit and Infrastructure Processing Units (IPUs). This partnership aims to deliver superior protection, scalability, and performance for advanced AI inference, particularly for edge applications like video analytics and IoT, where low latency and high performance are critical.
Kunal Anand, Chief Technology Officer at F5, commented, “Teaming up with Intel empowers us to push the boundaries of AI deployment. This collaboration underscores our commitment to innovation, providing a secure, reliable, and scalable AI inference solution that will enable enterprises to deliver AI services swiftly and securely.”
