Fortinet has announced the addition of a new security service named FortiTrust to its FortiCare and FortiGuard security service offerings. FortiTrust security services provide user-based licencing for all networks, endpoints, and clouds, which were previously isolated. Initial service levels for zero trust network access (ZTNA) and identity verification are available, with more to follow.
“As the digital attack surface expands with billions of edges that need to be protected, organizations are struggling to support an array of point security solutions and disparate services. Solution and services sprawl has now grown too difficult and too expensive to manage when they are siloed across various form factors. According to Gartner, organizations are moving towards security solutions with integrated services offerings. Fortinet is redefining services by expanding its security services options – which currently include FortiCare and FortiGuard – with FortiTrust, enabling a unified offering with one licensing model for flexible consumption options across networks, endpoints and clouds.”
FortiTrust offers security services that follow a user throughout an organization’s complete security platform, allowing businesses to effortlessly manage and safeguard their data across all devices. Other advantages of the new service include:
FortiTrust complements Fortinet’s existing security services offering, which includes FortiCare and FortiGuard. All Fortinet Security Fabric products come with FortiCare services. Essential, Premium, and Elite are the three tiers of service offered by FortiCare, all of which include 24×7 technical assistance and quick issue resolution. FortiCare also provides a variety of product and account-based service solutions to meet the specific needs of each business. FortiCare provides companies with access to Fortinet specialists who can help them expedite technology installation, give dependable assistance through enhanced support, and provide proactive care to ensure that Fortinet deployments are secure and operate well.
FortiGuard Security Services offer a variety of services that are connected to Fortinet devices, allowing for coordinated and consistent real-time security against the most recent assaults. Individual services for Enterprises, bundles for Commercial, and packages for SMBs are among the FortiGuard Security Services that are tailored to particular customer groups. FortiGuard Security Services offer a portfolio of AI-enabled security solutions that continually analyse threats and automatically modify protection throughout the Fortinet Security Fabric, leveraging threat intelligence from FortiGuard Labs.
These services will be updated and expanded in the near future.
The proliferation of new devices and edges, as well as investments in digital breakthroughs, are all contributing to a larger digital attack surface. As the threat landscape has grown considerably more sophisticated and difficult to manage with isolated point products and fragmented services, many companies are having difficulty securing their whole infrastructure. Different price structures for services and numerous licencing models, including device-based, hardware-based, and user-based licencing, have added to the complexity, which has remained siloed across form factors.
FortiTrust builds on the Fortinet Security Fabric’s ability to protect people, devices, applications, and data everywhere by providing a unified services offering that secures people, devices, applications, and data across any network, endpoint, or cloud, with simplified consumption and a single licencing model for all form factors. Organizations can secure key devices, data, apps, and connections from the data centre to the cloud to the home office and more as a consequence of Fortinet’s extended services capabilities.
FortiTrust’s initial service portfolio comprises FortiTrust Access and FortiTrust Identity, with SASE and CASB capabilities to follow. Organizations may utilise FortiTrust Access to deploy zero-trust network access (ZTNA) with user-based licencing. In today’s hybrid and highly dispersed networks, zero trust network access (ZTNA) is critical for ensuring consistent protection, visibility, and control.
Organizations may utilise ZTNA to provide safe access restrictions to apps for any user. Organizations may use FortiTrust Access to get ZTNA services, such as the ZTNA agent and cloud-based orchestration. This expands on Fortinet’s ZTNA solutions, which uniquely identify and categorise all people and devices requesting network and application access, whether they are on or off the network, and whether the applications are on-premises or in the cloud.
FortiTrust Identity is another FortiTrust service level. For identity verification, FortiTrust Identity provides cloud-based multi-factor authentication. FortiTrust Identity works in tandem with FortiTrust Access to provide the multi-factor authentication that is essential for managing application access.
All of Fortinet’s services are also offered through partners, giving channel partners the chance to expand their company and client offers.
