Abu Dhabi is set to host over 40 ministers and more than 200 C-suite executives and technology pioneers from across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas at ADIPEC 2024. The event, aimed at fostering collaborative innovation and partnerships to accelerate the energy transition, will take place from November 4-7, 2024, hosted by ADNOC.
This year’s ADIPEC, themed “Connecting Minds. Transforming Energy,” celebrates four decades of energy leadership. The event will focus on the intersection of energy and artificial intelligence (AI) and showcase next-generation technologies and AI solutions that are reshaping the future of energy. The Opening Ceremony will feature a keynote by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, COP28 President, and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO. Following his address, energy ministers from the UAE, India, and Egypt will participate in a panel titled “The New Global Leaders and the Energy Transition” to discuss emerging economies’ impact on global energy.

Global leaders set to speak at ADIPEC include Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi; Hardeep S. Puri, India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas; Haitham Al-Ghais, Secretary-General of OPEC; Bahrain’s Minister of Oil Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina; Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Ekperikpe Ekpo; Angola’s Minister of Energy João Baptista Borges; and Jordan’s Minister of Energy Dr. Saleh A. Al-Kharabsheh.
The CEO panel, “Meeting Escalating Global Energy Demand While Transitioning to a Low-Carbon System,” will feature industry leaders such as Murray Auchincloss, CEO of BP; Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell; PETRONAS President Tengku Muhammad Taufik; and Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi. This discussion will address strategies for balancing rising energy demands with decarbonization efforts.
Executives confirmed for ADIPEC include Joseph McMonigle of the International Energy Forum, OMV’s Alfred Stern, Vitol’s Russell Hardy, and ADNOC’s Musabbeh Al Kaabi. Technology leaders like Microsoft, Schneider Electric, Siemens, and Accenture will share insights into digital transformation, while AI innovators like Boomitra and Matroid will showcase AI’s role in enhancing efficiency in the energy sector.
Leaders from logistics and finance will also play a critical role, with AD Ports Group and DP World discussing sustainable supply chains. Key financial players such as Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, J.P. Morgan, and Morgan Stanley will explore sustainable investment’s role in supporting a low-carbon future.
