The Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) has officially joined the SAP University Alliances program, enhancing its curriculum with hands-on technology training that will significantly benefit students’ career prospects after graduation.

As part of a global network of over 3,000 members, the SAP University Alliances program grants universities access to advanced technology solutions, training materials, and support. This membership allows educational institutions to equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in an experience-driven economy and prepares them for the SAP ecosystem. Additionally, the program fosters opportunities for students to engage with industry partners at SAP events.

Professor Bassam Alameddine, President of GUST, emphasized the university’s commitment to producing science and technology graduates who can make a tangible impact in the world and lead Kuwait’s digital economy. “Through our membership in SAP University Alliances, we can expose our graduates to the latest innovations in AI-powered solutions and green skills. We strive to prepare our students for success by creating opportunities for them to expand their knowledge in real-world settings, and this membership allows for high-impact collaborations with fellow students and SAP’s ecosystem partners,” he stated.

Sundus Bushahri, Managing Director of SAP Kuwait, noted, “SAP is dedicated to supporting Kuwait’s ambitious digitalization, sustainability, and skills-development agenda, while helping companies harness the vast potential of cloud computing and Business AI. The SAP University Alliances program exemplifies how academia and both public and private sectors can collaborate to cultivate a highly skilled, sustainable workforce. GUST students will gain practical experience and participate in co-innovation projects and industry networking opportunities, ensuring they graduate with the skills required to excel in a digital economy while advancing their future employers’ sustainability and AI objectives.”

Recent enhancements to the SAP University Alliances program include educational trips to SAP Headquarters in Germany and the introduction of new learning platforms, such as Business Builders. Developed in collaboration with HEC Montréal, Business Builders enables students to compete and engage in scenarios that evaluate sustainable business practices based on the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) Methodology.

This partnership marks a significant step forward for GUST as it seeks to prepare its students for the rapidly evolving job market in technology and innovation.
