GWU Launches AI Training for Women in Peace and Security

The General Women’s Union (GWU) has unveiled the fourth cohort of participants in the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Women, Peace and Security initiative, featuring specialised AI training. In collaboration with Khalifa University of Science and Technology, this program is designed to empower women with advanced technological skills to meet global advancements.

Continuing through September, the training aims to enhance women’s roles in peace and security, expand networks in military and peacekeeping fields, and increase their representation in these vital sectors.

Noura Al Suwaidi, GWU Secretary-General, emphasized the alignment with H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s vision for women’s empowerment, both in the UAE and globally. Sheikha Fatima’s advocacy for women’s advancement is reflected in her efforts to build their capacities and skills. The AI sessions will provide participants with insights into responsible and effective use of technology, promoting digital literacy and social responsibility.

Professor Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University, highlighted the importance of sector collaboration to raise awareness and ensure the responsible use of AI for societal benefit.
