Hisense Opens Advanced R&D Centre in Dubai Internet City

Hisense, has officially launched a state-of-the-art Research and Development (R&D) centre in Dubai Internet City, reinforcing its long-term commitment to delivering climate-friendly solutions for the Middle East. The new facility aligns with the Dubai Research and Development Programme and aims to foster innovation across the region, contributing to the UAE’s sustainability goals.

The launch event was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including H.E. Dr Abdul Rahman Hassan Almuaini, Assistant Undersecretary for Intellectual Property Rights Sector at the UAE Ministry of Economy, and key officials from China and the UAE. Zen Zanrong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee; Jia Shaoqian, Chairman of Hisense Group; and Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group, were also present.

Located in Dubai Internet City, a hub for tech innovation and part of the TECOM Group PJSC, the R&D centre will play a pivotal role in developing products tailored to the Middle East’s unique needs, from extreme weather conditions to cultural preferences. Hisense’s focus will be on driving energy-efficient and sustainable solutions, catering to both consumer and business markets.

Jia Shaoqian, Chairman of Hisense Group, highlighted the importance of the new centre, saying, “This facility signifies our long-term vision for the Middle East. By deepening our understanding of local consumer needs, we can develop solutions that are highly relevant and impactful, ensuring top quality and performance.”

Ammar Al Malik echoed these sentiments, adding, “Welcoming Hisense’s R&D centre further strengthens Dubai Internet City’s role as a global innovation hub. This aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the Dubai Research and Development Programme, driving resilience and global excellence.”

The R&D centre will house over 40 specialists working on product enhancements and green technologies, reinforcing Hisense’s commitment to reducing carbon footprints. It will also serve as a training hub for regional sales and service teams, along with B2C and B2B partners.

Hisense joins an elite group of global technology firms, including Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia, operating within Dubai Internet City’s ecosystem of innovation. This new centre marks a significant milestone in Hisense’s growth in the region, advancing its vision of delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions to Middle Eastern markets.
