HP Inc. has announced a new line of DesignJet and PageWide XL Pro printers to provide large format print users with the technologies they need to navigate and flourish in the new normal. The portfolios also provide better picture and colour quality, improved accuracy, and new graphical application potential – all while driving sustainability gains.

HP is offering print service providers (PSPs) and Geographic Information System (GIS) analysts the newest options to produce professional photo-quality prints and high precision colourful GIS-generated maps with the two new HP DesignJet Z Pro machines. Meanwhile, the three new HP PageWide XL Pro printers give PSPs and repro houses the opportunity to respond to customer requests faster and expand their capabilities.

“As our customers continue to grapple with uncertain business conditions following a uniquely challenging past couple of years, we know that expanding their print application reach, an ability to move fast, and outstanding colour and graphics performance define their large format printing needs”, said Daniel Martinez, General Manager, Large Format Business, HP.

Further said, “This is why we’re introducing the new HP DesignJet Z Pro and HP PageWide XL Pro series. Both portfolios are designed to help users navigate uncertain demand, respond to tighter deadlines and unlock untapped potential in their own offerings.”

Highest colour quality with HP DesignJet

The new HP DesignJet Z6 Pro and Z9+ Pro, which celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the first DesignJet product, provide PSPs and GIS analysts with the finest professional photo quality and precision, as well as leading security features.

HP DesignJet Z Pro customers can now achieve 93 percent pantone coverage – 26 percent more gamut than the previous generation – and make prints with the picture quality of a 12-ink printer with just nine inks, thanks to the chromatic RGB HP Vivid Photo Inks. Printheads featuring High-Definition Nozzle Architecture (HDNA) and dual drop technology, which reduce visual grain and eliminate the need for light-colored inks, offer prints with clear details and dazzling-contrasts.

PSPs searching for a professional photo grade printer may consider the HP DesignJet Z9+ Pro, which has the largest colour range in its class. Users can create unique ICC profiles for their print jobs in order to get the colour accuracy and consistency they require. PSPs can also add the HP Gloss Enhancer Upgrade Kit to their orders for improved gloss uniformity.

The HP PrintOS mobile app also gives PSPs additional control over their print processes, from monitoring performance and responding to issues to remotely sharing media pre-sets.

For the first time, the HP PrintOS Service Center application is included with the new HP DesignJet Z Pro printer series. This smart cloud-based solution enables users to gain a single, real-time view of all ongoing service cases, with updates that are accessible anytime, anywhere.

The new HP DesignJet Z6 Pro printer is great for GIS analysts who need to make very exact maps, print fine contour lines and text, and keep data secure. The Adobe PDF Print Engine allows for superb transparencies and layer reproductions, while HP’s HDNA printheads and HP Pixel Control provide the utmost precision, as well as smooth gradients and distinct colour shades, which are especially important for printing complicated maps.

The HP DesignJet Z6 Pro is the world’s most secure large-format printer, including encrypted connections and an Access Control List to ensure data security. HP Connection Inspector, HP Secure Boot, and Whitelisting are just a few of the features that assure the greatest network security, putting any concerns about data security to rest.

The HP DesignJet Z6 Pro and Z9+ Pro both have the quickest media handling, as well as spindle-less and automated roll feed.

The HP DesignJet Z6 Pro prints twice as fast on plain paper at the same quality, while the HP DesignJet Z9+ Pro prints up to 18% quicker on satin picture media – and 46 percent faster on canvas – with greater quality.

Maximise productivity with HP PageWide XL Pro

Three new HP PageWide XL Pro printers have also been revealed, allowing retailPSPs and reprohouses to answer to consumer demands faster and fulfil tighter deadlines. Users will also be able to take advantage of additional short-term applications, such as the ability to print on boards, cardboard, and paper in sizes ranging from A2 to B1, with a thickness of up to 10mm.

The new HP PageWide XL Pro 5200 and HP PageWide XL Pro8200 printers print at speeds of 20 D/A1 pages per minute and 4300 ft2/hr (400 m2/hr) and 30 D/A1 pages per minute and 5300 ft2/hr (500 m2/hr), respectively, allowing customers to meet tight deadlines. Both printers can provide whole projects two to three times faster than before, thanks to the PageWide XL Pro 8200’s ability to print mixed outputs of both CAD drawings and presentation boards. Users can also expand their print applications into two-sided, short-term retail posters with the new HP PageWide XL Pro 5200 and HP PageWide XL Pro 8200, which can be easily managed with HP SmartStream.

Both the HP PageWide XL Pro 5200 and the HP PageWide XL Pro 8200 are designed to help raise revenues and minimise costs by allowing users to save up to 50% on preparation and finishing expenditures. Both printers use Original HP Eco-Carton ink cartridges that hold up to three litres of ink, ensuring minimal running costs for CAD drawings and posters. Features like the flexible stacker, inline folders, and auto switch help reprohouses say yes to more print orders by reducing operation time.

With printing speeds of up to 700 m2 (7500 ft2) or 1,000 B1 posters per hour, the HP PageWide XL Pro 10000 enhances productivity. It can print on a variety of materials, from paper and boards to cardstock and cutsheets. It also gives PSPs the potential to produce speedy results on compatible substrates with instant-dry prints. PSPs can effortlessly control their fleet’s operations from anywhere, at any time, with HP PrintOS, while also benefiting from simpler maintenance and quick start-up. The HP PageWide XL Pro 10000 also boasts the first HP large-format auto sheet feeder and adaptable stacker, allowing smooth end-to-end cut-sheet workflow.
