HP Showcases AI Innovations at GITEX AFRICA 2024

This year’s theme, “Creating a Bold Future for Africa,” aligns seamlessly with HP’s latest advancements in personal systems, gaming, printing, and hybrid work solutions. Navigating the Rise of Hybrid Work

As hybrid work models become more prevalent, research by Quorica on The Future of Work predicts remote working will rise to 44% by next year, up from the current 36%. This trend underscores the need for businesses to stay flexible and responsive to their workforce’s needs to retain talent and maintain productivity.

The global embrace of hybrid work coincides with the growing impact of generative AI, which the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa forecasts could boost Africa’s economy by $1.5 trillion by 2030.

AI’s Potential to Enhance Work Relationships

Despite the adoption of hybrid work, many employees struggle with feelings of disconnection and digital fatigue. According to HP’s 2023 Work Relationship Index, only 27% of the workforce reports positive work relationships, with 83% calling for a reevaluation of work dynamics. Interestingly, workers in emerging economies are more optimistic about AI, with 76% believing it will ease their jobs and 75% finding it will make their work more interesting, compared to 48% and 44% in mature economies.

The Index also highlights the need for business leaders to effectively integrate AI into work processes. Over 40% of employees feel unsure about using AI and lack the necessary skills. Most business leaders and knowledge workers support training and upskilling, viewing AI as a tool to enhance job satisfaction and streamline tasks.
