Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) revealed significant updates at HPE Discover Barcelona 2024, showcasing advancements in its HPE GreenLake cloud platform. These innovations are designed to simplify management across complex hybrid IT environments, boost agility, and drive innovation for businesses adopting hybrid cloud and AI technologies.

One of the major highlights is the launch of HPE VM Essentials (VME), a unified virtual machine (VM) management solution that offers businesses flexibility in managing virtualized workloads across hybrid environments. HPE VME integrates existing virtualized workloads with the new HPE VME hypervisor, streamlining management and improving efficiency. It supports essential features such as leading storage protocols, distributed workload placement, high availability, live migration, and integrated data protection. By adopting HPE GreenLake cloud and VME, enterprises can reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by up to 5x.

Additionally, HPE introduced the HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000, an object storage solution designed for exabyte-scale data. This solution offers up to 6x faster performance compared to competing products, providing businesses with high-speed data storage and retrieval. The X10000 features HPE’s multi-protocol disaggregated architecture for block, file, and object storage, simplifying fleet management across hybrid environments. With this innovation, customers can achieve up to 40% savings in operational costs.

HPE also unveiled solutions tailored for regulated industries, including disconnected management capabilities for its private cloud and block storage offerings. This ensures that businesses can maintain cloud-like experiences in environments with limited or no internet access. Furthermore, HPE announced the availability of sovereign private cloud solutions, powered by HPE GreenLake, to meet local, regional, and industry-specific regulations. These offerings will be initially available in Europe through qualified HPE Partner Ready Vantage partners.

In partnership with NVIDIA, HPE expanded its HPE Private Cloud AI solutions, adding six new partners to its Unleash AI program. This program is designed to accelerate AI adoption by providing enterprises with validated AI solutions. New partners including Codeium, Contextual.AI, Dataiku, IronYun, Securiti, and Writer will support high-value AI use cases, including AI-powered software development, intelligent video analytics, and secure GenAI systems.

Fidelma Russo, EVP and CTO at HPE, highlighted the importance of a hybrid-by-design approach for enterprises to fully unlock the potential of hybrid cloud and AI. She stated, “With these new offerings, HPE GreenLake cloud delivers a future-proof operating model for virtualized, cloud-native, and AI workloads.”

The recent acquisition of Morpheus Data enables HPE GreenLake cloud to simplify IT operations further, allowing businesses to integrate existing hypervisor clusters and manage virtualized workloads seamlessly. Customers can reduce costs and simplify management with the built-in KVM-based hypervisor, while future-proofing their IT estate with flexible upgrade paths.

HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 also leverages all-flash storage to provide enhanced performance for high-speed data lakes and modern data protection. This new solution enables businesses to scale performance and capacity independently, offering up to 20x data reduction and integration with top backup solutions like Commvault and Veeam.

For businesses in regulated environments, HPE’s air-gapped solutions like HPE Private Cloud Enterprise Disconnected and HPE Alletra Storage MP Disconnected provide secure cloud-like experiences while ensuring compliance with local data regulations.

Finally, HPE’s expansion of its AI ecosystem with new partnerships will enable businesses to accelerate AI adoption and meet the complex demands of hybrid workloads, bringing innovative AI solutions to market faster.
