Huawei Cloud Launches AI Initiatives at Saudi Summit, Boosts Vision 2030

Huawei Cloud has launched a series of groundbreaking AI initiatives at the Huawei Cloud Summit Saudi Arabia 2024, marking a significant step in accelerating Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation and supporting Vision 2030.

The summit, attended by over 600 guests, highlighted the latest advancements in AI technologies, including AI-ready model training and inference. The event showcased Huawei Cloud’s innovative ecosystem resources from both global and Chinese sources. Business leaders from leading companies explored how Huawei Cloud’s products and solutions could enhance their competitiveness, including leveraging Pangu models for industry intelligence.

These initiatives feature advanced AI capabilities and substantial investments in local talent and enterprises, positioning Huawei Cloud as a pivotal enabler of Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification. The AI suite offers technologies that provide ubiquitous computing, reduce costs, enhance data security, and improve service experiences, with Huawei Cloud delivering latency as low as 25 ms across the Kingdom.

Steven Yi, President of Huawei Middle East and Central Asia, expressed commitment during his welcome speech: “With strong will and long-term partners, we can realize the strategic vision. Huawei remains committed to the Middle East and Central Asia with continuous innovation, deep industry insights, and digital talent cultivation to accelerate Vision 2030 in Saudi Arabia.”

Jacqueline Shi, President of Huawei Cloud Global Marketing and Sales Service, emphasized Huawei Cloud’s alignment with Saudi Arabia’s digital sovereignty strategy: “Huawei Cloud has embraced Saudi Arabia’s digital sovereignty, becoming the first cloud provider fully compliant with the government’s data security policies. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety and privacy of our Saudi customers’ data through cutting-edge technology and localized services, contributing to the local digital economy.”

Alan Qi, President of Huawei Cloud Middle East & Central Asia, highlighted the rapid growth in Saudi Arabia: “Since launching the Riyadh Region, our public cloud business revenue in Saudi increased tenfold in the past year, thanks to our innovative solutions and customer-centric service. We’ve served over 300 customers, including government ministries, top telecom carriers, FinTechs, media companies, and 90% of Chinese businesses expanding into Saudi Arabia.”

Huawei Cloud’s AI-driven solutions are set to transform various sectors. In government services, Huawei Cloud supports the Saudi government in creating a big data platform for efficient data sharing and implementing smart city initiatives using the Pangu government model. The company has also developed an Arabic large language model (LLM), supporting over 20 AI applications with high resource utilization.

In retail and e-commerce, Huawei Cloud aids local e-commerce platform Zode in expanding its market presence and offers innovative solutions for digital banking with robust cybersecurity measures.

Mark Chen, President of Huawei Cloud’s Global Solution Sales Department, highlighted the role of AI in industry transformation: “Huawei Cloud is committed to building AI-ready infrastructure through innovation and accelerating industry intelligence. Our Pangu large model and ModelArts AI development platform are advancing applications across mining, government, automotive, meteorology, medicine, and more.”

Huawei Cloud’s Pangu model is also revolutionizing software development with enhancements to CodeArts, enabling the creation of billions of lines of code in just one hour, which supports rapid deployment and competitiveness for local businesses.
