Huawei held the latest edition of the Huawei & Partners ICT Talent Job Fair aimed at bolstering Saudi talent within the technology sector and contributing to the wider development goals of Vision 2030. This year’s fair took place virtually between December 31, 2020 – January 5, 2021, with 13 partners participating in the fair with more than 70 vacancies being offered.
Huawei and its partners both received resumes of trainees and conducted the selected interviews during the fair. In addition to finding jobs, the event aims to build a deeper understanding of the value of ICT talent to Saudi Arabia’s national development, offering students constructive guidance on how to kick-start their career in one of the Kingdom’s high-growth sectors. The recruitment event was successfully established in 2019.
The job fair is part of Huawei’s Saudi Talent Enabling Program (STEP) which seeks to benefit 10,000 local talents by 2023. The STEP program focuses on training, enabling, and promoting ICT talent within the Kingdom through building talent alliances, setting talent standards, and communicating talent value.
Terry He, Chief Executive Officer at Huawei Tech. Investment KSA, said: “Through this job fair and under Huawei’s larger STEP initiative, we have been able to create a strong ecosystem that serves both recent graduates and professionals in the country. Together with our partners, we hope this can inspire other companies to do the same. Building on several successful events, the job fair will remain one of the most important activities under our long-term STEP program.”
Based on its comprehensive talent development strategy, Huawei hopes to continue working with entities from the public and private sectors to build a positive, open, and cooperative ICT talent ecosystem.
