Huawei Roadshow Boosts Digital Transformation in Oman

Huawei’s Oman Commercial Roadshow, part of its Middle East and Central Asia (ME&CA) tour, made a significant impact on July 22nd in Muscat. The event spotlighted digital solutions crucial for advancing government, education, and healthcare sectors, directly supporting the Oman Vision 2040 initiative.

The Oman Vision 2040 emphasizes digital transformation as a key pillar for national development. This vision focuses on enhancing technical capabilities, building critical ICT infrastructure, and improving e-government services. A recent International Data Corporation (IDC) report forecasts ICT spending in Oman will reach $3.49 billion by 2026.

Huawei’s roadshow is a key component of its larger strategy to promote digital transformation across the ME&CA region. Following successful events in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, this series will span 13 countries, underlining Huawei’s commitment to regional technological progress.

Li Haopeng, Managing Director of Huawei’s Enterprise Business, highlighted the company’s 21-year presence in Oman. “Our goal is to foster a collaborative ecosystem where we and our partners drive digital transformation in alignment with Oman’s goals. By empowering local businesses, we aim to enhance the digital economy across Oman and the ME&CA region,” said Haopeng.

Faisal Malik, Chief Technical Officer of Huawei Middle East & Central Asia, detailed Huawei’s Commercial Market Strategy, focusing on how the company plans to support local enterprises in their digital journeys.

Osama Henein, General Manager of OHI Group, praised the roadshow’s impact. “The Huawei ME&CA Oman Commercial Roadshow was more than just a tech showcase. It revealed the latest advancements and demonstrated Huawei’s leadership in the industry. The event was inspiring and well-organized, reflecting Huawei’s role in shaping the future.”

The roadshow drew over 80 attendees from partner organizations and highlighted digital solutions across sectors. Huawei’s presentations included innovations in IP networks, data storage, optical networks, smart devices, and remote communication systems. Practical examples of smart office and campus setups were also featured.

Additionally, Huawei unveiled new services and digital platforms designed to enhance partner capabilities, streamline business operations, and optimize logistics. These initiatives aim to build a robust foundation for digital transformation, offering long-term advantages for businesses in Oman and the wider ME&CA region. Through its cutting-edge technologies and solutions in communication, storage, cloud computing, AI, and IoT, Huawei addresses regional challenges and contributes to a vibrant digital ecosystem. The company’s collaboration with over 40,000 global partners is pivotal in advancing ICT infrastructure, fostering digital economy growth, and developing local talent.
