Huawei, in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, successfully concluded the regional finals of the Seeds for the Future 2024 program in Tashkent. The event saw teams from Kuwait and the UAE securing top positions, advancing to the global Tech4Good competition in China. Team Future Gadget Lab from Kuwait and Team Beyond Limits from the UAE were recognized for their innovative projects assisting stroke patients. Teams from Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain also received recognition for their outstanding contributions, with Kazakhstan and Bahrain representatives selected as Mentors’ Favorites.
The event was a significant milestone, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the program in Uzbekistan and the 25th anniversary of Huawei’s operations in the country. Huawei’s Seeds for the Future program brought together 150 university students from 14 countries across the Middle East and Central Asia. The participants engaged in intensive training and workshops, focusing on technologies like 5G, AI, and cloud computing.
Huawei’s commitment to nurturing ICT talent in the region was highlighted during the event, with remarks from Shunli Wang, Vice President of Huawei Middle East and Central Asia, and Mr. Rustam Karimjonov, Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan. The Seeds for the Future program, launched in 2008, has empowered over 18,000 students from 141 countries, aiming to develop the next generation of ICT leaders globally.
