At the Global Mobile Broadband Forum (MBBF) 2024, Huawei introduced its Antenna Digitalization White Paper, shedding light on emerging trends and innovations in antenna digitalization. The white paper envisions the pivotal role of antennas in the age of mobile AI, as artificial intelligence drives significant technological transformations across industries, including wireless networks.

As wireless networks evolve toward greater intelligence, the white paper emphasizes the need for further innovation in network infrastructure. Antennas, a core element of these networks, are central to this transformation, and their digitalization will be key to realizing the potential of intelligent networks.

The white paper outlines two critical components of antenna digitalization:

1. Remote Management: Antennas must provide real-time, accurate data to network systems, such as engineering parameters and beam shapes. This data will support the creation of comprehensive models for intelligent network optimization.

2. Multidimensional Adjustment: Antennas should be capable of real-time, remote adjustments of parameters, including signal radiation directions and beam shapes. This flexibility will enhance the optimization of intelligent networks.

Andy Sun, President of Huawei’s Antenna Business Unit, shared: “This white paper reflects the collective vision and insights of our partners, industry scholars, and Huawei’s experts. It highlights our deep analysis of the antenna industry in the mobile AI era. Antenna digitalization is an inevitable foundation for intelligent networks. Huawei will continue to collaborate with global industry partners to advance antenna digitalization and contribute to the development of more intelligent, efficient wireless networks.”

Huawei’s Antenna Digitalization White Paper is a forward-looking exploration of the role of antennas in the future of intelligent wireless networks.
