At the 10th Ultra-Broadband Forum (UBBF 2024), James Chen, President of Huawei’s Carrier Business, presented a forward-looking vision titled “Network+AI, Unleashing More Business Value.” Chen introduced Huawei’s “FOUR NEW” strategy, designed to help carriers expand their market reach, enhance competitiveness, and maximize business success through AI-driven network innovations.

Huawei’s “FOUR NEW” strategy, encompassing New Hub, New Services, New Experience, and New Operation, aims to empower carriers to push market boundaries, deliver advanced services, and optimize network operations. “With the ‘FOUR NEW’ approach, carriers can achieve transformative digital success. Huawei is committed to partnering globally to unlock business value and build a digital-intelligent future,” stated Chen.

The UBB and AI sectors continue their rapid expansion. Over 300 million gigabit fiber broadband users now benefit from average broadband speeds of 570 Mbit/s, while the number of AI-related enterprises has surpassed 30,000 globally. This growth is propelling the widespread adoption of gigabit broadband, reinforcing the connection between ultra-broadband and AI industries.

Bob Chen, President of Huawei’s Optical Business Product Line, highlighted how Huawei’s AI-centric F5.5G all-optical network will enable new growth opportunities for carriers. As carriers evolve into AI service providers, building resilient infrastructure and integrating network-computing capabilities will be vital. This requires networks with high bandwidth, low latency, and robust reliability to support intelligent computing and AI applications. Huawei’s F5.5G innovations in optical transmission, access, and management will facilitate this transformation.

Bob Chen remarked, “The next decade will witness rapid AI adoption. By collaborating with industry partners, we aim to establish an AI-centric F5.5G all-optical network, supporting AI expansion and generating new business growth as we enter the intelligent era.”
