Addis Ababa – The Ministry of Labor and Skills has unveiled a trio of digital solutions crafted to streamline labor market, enterprise, and competency assessment services. In collaboration with relevant government entities, the Ministry has brought forth Lucy E-commerce, COC system, and Bequ Apps, all locally developed and playing a significant role in advancing Ethiopia’s digital transformation.
These digital platforms, created using domestic resources, are making substantial contributions to Ethiopia’s ongoing digitization efforts. The Lucy E-commerce platform, accessible via web and app, is expected to particularly benefit Small and Medium Enterprises, enhancing their business activities. Simultaneously, the Bequ App aims to enhance the flow of information within the Ethiopian labor market, while the COC Automation system strengthens competency assessment services.
The launch event, featuring Minister of Labor and Skills Muferiat Kamil, Minister of Trade and Regional Integration Gebremeskel Challa, and Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute Director-General Werku Gachena, underscored the significance of these platforms in contributing to Ethiopia’s digital evolution.
Minister Muferiat Kamil emphasized the instrumental role of these applications in supporting the ongoing efforts to realize the strategy of a digitally empowered Ethiopia.
