LG Electronics is unveiling the LG ThinQ ON AI home hub at IFA 2024 in Berlin, showcasing its advanced Affectionate Intelligence. This smart home hub is designed to be the central element of a connected home ecosystem, seamlessly integrating with a range of appliances and Internet of Things (IoT) devices to deliver a personalized, AI-driven experience.
The ThinQ ON hub features a compact, cylindrical design in gray or white, allowing it to blend seamlessly into any décor. It includes an AI speaker that interacts with LG’s voice assistant, facilitating easy control of connected devices and access to audio content. The hub’s AI capabilities are powered by a high-performance chipset, ensuring scalability and future readiness.
This innovative hub allows users to manage their smart home with natural, conversational voice commands. LG’s Affectionate Intelligence enables the hub to understand context and user preferences, enhancing the overall smart home experience. The ThinQ ON also autonomously monitors the home environment, notifying users of completed tasks or potential issues, and allows voice-controlled adjustments of appliance settings and routines.
The LG ThinQ ON is Matter-certified and supports various network options like Wi-Fi and Thread, ensuring smooth integration with a wide range of LG and third-party devices. LG’s recent acquisition of Athom, known for its Homey Pro hub, expands ThinQ ON’s connectivity capabilities, enabling it to connect with over 50,000 devices and offering a broad range of applications through the Homey App Store.
Security is a key feature, with LG Shield providing robust protection for user data. This proprietary system ensures encrypted storage and secure handling of information, safeguarding against unauthorized access.
“ThinQ ON brings us closer to our Zero Labor Home vision,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “We aim to make the AI Home Lifestyle accessible to all through our Affectionate Intelligence solutions.”
