The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has wrapped up its involvement in the World Future Energy Summit by inviting companies and investors to join the upcoming Make it in the Emirates Forum next month.

Taking place in Abu Dhabi and organized by Masdar, the World Future Energy Summit served as a platform to showcase the initiatives and projects of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology. These initiatives aim to bolster the UAE’s global standing in future industries and technology.

MoIAT’s presence at the energy summit underscored the intertwined nature of industry and energy, particularly clean energy. This connection will be further explored at the Make it in the Emirates Forum scheduled for May 27-28.

During the summit, MoIAT emphasized the opportunities presented by the Make it in the Emirates initiative, which seeks to attract international businesses and investors to the industrial sector while fostering technological innovation for sustainable industrial growth.

Aligned with the national industrial strategy, MoIAT is formulating policies to enhance competitiveness and foster sustainable practices. Noteworthy among these efforts is the implementation of the Federal Regulation for Energy Management in Industrial Facilities, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. This regulation aims to enhance energy efficiency in the industrial sector in line with the objectives of the National Program for Energy and Water Demand Management 2050, contributing to the Industrial Decarbonization Roadmap’s goal of reducing carbon emissions by up to 93% by 2050.

The Make it in the Emirates initiative stands as a cornerstone program supporting industrial sustainability, aiming to equip companies with Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to boost sustainability, productivity, and competitiveness both regionally and globally.

The World Future Energy Summit attracted significant participation from government officials, industry leaders, policymakers, partners, investors, and representatives from small and medium-sized enterprises. The summit, aligned with the outcomes of COP28 hosted by the UAE in 2023, welcomed over 30,000 visitors from 112 countries, solidifying its status as a premier event in the energy transition. With six exhibitions and various halls, including the Green Hydrogen Innovations Hub launched in 2023, the summit remains at the forefront of shaping a sustainable future.
