NEOM Tech, a Saudi technology firm, has chosen American IT company Oracle and Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer to build a scalable platform for all mission critical IT workloads.

Neom will be able to address local data residency and latency requirements as well as reduce operating costs for its 36MW ZeroPoint DC data center by leveraging Oracle’s portfolio of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) public cloud services and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.

“Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer is a natural progression of our ZeroPoint DC partnership with Oracle, and will allow us to fully tap into the potential of cognitive solutions that we are developing,” said Fabio Fontana, CEO of ZeroPoint DC and Chief Growth Officer of NEOM Tech & Digital Company. “Our continued partnership means that the infrastructure and best-in-class services provided by Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer will play an instrumental role in powering the cognitive ecosystem at NEOM and support a growing digital economy for residents in Saudi Arabia and the broader region.”

NEOM will be able to run its IT workloads securely on a single-tenant, flexible cloud infrastructure with the same availability, manageability, and performance SLAs as a single availability domain in an Oracle public cloud region. Neom technology can increase agility across all business processes and innovate by gaining access to new cloud services as they become available from Oracle.

Richard Smith, Executive VP, Technology, EMEA, Oracle, said “NEOM’s vision of building the world’s first cognitive community means harnessing the latest digital technologies. The Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer has been designed to address demanding data residency and privacy requirements and, with this, we can focus on ensuring our customers can run a self-contained region where all hosted data remains local to that region. This makes Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer the perfect framework to support NEOM to achieve its vision.”

In addition, with Oracle Autonomous Database on Exadata Cloud@Customer, the company will be able to reduce database administration costs by up to 80% and focus its resources on innovation.
