Kodak Alaris has expanded its award-winning S3000 Scanner Series with the introduction of two new models, the Kodak S3120 Max and Kodak S3140 Max. Both scanners are intended to assist organizations in making the best use of their information as quickly as possible.

The S3000 Max Series combines high-volume capacity with the ease of use and small size of a desktop unit. Both scanners are ideal for document-intensive processes and make it simple to convert paper-based information into business-critical data.

To ensure maximum productivity, the S3000 Max Series provides exceptional image quality, superior paper protection, versatile media handling capabilities, and faster capture speeds, as well as three months of onsite, next-day service and support and extended service options.

These new models build on the success of the award-winning S3000 Series Scanners in the healthcare, logistics, banking, education, and government markets. They can capture up to 140 pages per minute (ppm), and on-board image processing allows for independent operation while consuming less PC resources. RESTful Web API support enables efficient document capture via the browser, without the need for software or drivers. As a result, they are simple to incorporate into line-of-business applications, web-based scanning applications, and mobile devices.

The new Kodak S3120 Max and Kodak S3140 Max Scanners are simple to set up and use; knowledge workers can configure the scanners without requiring IT assistance, and the intuitive interface and 3.5″ color touchscreen provide simple operation. Operators can personalize workflows with Smart Touch software, which can configure up to twenty different scan jobs to meet specific scanning requirements – all with a single touch.

Users can easily scan documents into on-site or off-site applications and file repositories, including cloud services, and quickly digitize data trapped on paper and get it into enterprise applications such as ERP or CRM systems with a high degree of accuracy.

Improved paper handling drives higher efficiencies

The S3000 Max Series’ versatile media handling capability allows it to handle a wide range of paper sizes, shapes, and weights, including mixed batches. The scanners have a large 500-sheet ADF, allowing operators to scan multiple batches at once, and controlled output stacking speeds up post-scan processing.

Advanced Intelligent Document Protection (IDP) and multi-feed detectors detect paper feeding issues, ensuring that all documents are scanned without damage or missing pages. IDP “listens” for problems and alerts users before jams or misfeeds occur, assisting in the protection of valuable data and further improving efficiency.

Exceptional image quality and accuracy

The new MAX Series Scanners also include built-in barcode reading for consistently fast and accurate read results, as well as Perfect Page technology, which provides superior image quality while scanning at rated speeds. Perfect Page delivers RPA-optimized files while enabling the best possible performance when using machine data extraction (OCR/ICR/Forms Recognition). Users can even use the built-in digital stamping feature or an optional imprinter accessory to add a custom string of text to documents.

Security, simplified

The S3000 Max Series includes enterprise-class security features such as Secure Boot, which validates firmware before it executes, and supports enterprise security protocols for scanning over networks such as TLS Encryption and HTTPS, which can be easily enabled using the Kodak Alaris RESTful WEB API.

“The global pandemic has proven that digital transformation is a powerful enabler of long-term success and resilience,” said Joe Odore, Product Marketing Manager at Kodak Alaris. “As organizations worldwide continue to advance their DX strategies, they demand powerful, productivity-boosting and secure capture technologies to support their continuous innovation. We’ve designed the S3000 Max Series Scanners to address the capture challenges our customers are facing now, and to enable them to digitize workflows and process digital data in an automated and intelligent way.”
