Nokia will exhibit innovations for a more productive, safe, and inclusive world at Expo 2020. Nokia revealed that it would demonstrate innovative technologies such as 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality at Expo 2020 Dubai for six months, from October 1st, 2021 to March 31st 2022. Nokia offers numerous use cases as part of the Finnish pavilion that enables society to be more productive, safer, and sustainable for everybody. The demonstrations are in keeping with the UAE government’s aim of creating a green economy for long-term growth.
The LuxTurrim Smart Pole was demonstrated by Nokia for a variety of smart city applications, including Covid awareness recognition, weather/air quality monitoring, smart lighting, entertainment, public safety, and more. A 5G base station, sensors, video cameras, and other equipment are integrated into a light pole to create the smart pole, which is an ergonomic and small solution. In addition, Nokia will demonstrate a hologram that will use 5G technology to convey messages from Nokia executives in Finland to guests at the expo on pre-arranged dates.
Nokia’s demos at Exhibition 2020 Dubai, where more than 180 countries are taking part in the region’s first global expo, span a variety of topics, including essential communications, public safety, autonomous vehicles, and health and education, among others. Finland, one of the world’s happiest countries, has chosen the topic of Sharing Future Happiness for its pavilion, and Nokia is displaying innovations that contribute to a more sustainable, egalitarian, and happier future at this pavilion.
Commenting on Nokia’s participation in the expo, Rima Manna, Head of the Middle East Market Unit, Nokia MEA, said, “We are excited to participate in Expo 2020 Dubai, the first such massive expo in the UAE, and showcase our innovations that are aligned with the Government’s focus on the green economy. Finland is at the forefront of adopting the principles of the circular economy for a sustainable world. We are proud of our Finnish heritage and to demonstrate disruptive technologies that help the world act together and increase people’s happiness.”
