Nutanix has been recognized a Visionary in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant October 2021 for Distributed Files and Objects Storage. This is the first time that the firm has been recognized in this report. Nutanix claims that the company’s use cases for its technology are expanding, and that its placement in this Magic Quadrant illustrates how Nutanix solves more essential functionality for companies.

“We believe being named in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed Files and Objects Storage is a significant recognition of Nutanix’s storage offerings, which aim to simplify and lower operating costs. Our software-defined storage provides a solution for customers looking to modernize and unify their unstructured data storage, including those not ready to move to HCI,” said Rajiv Mirani, Chief Technology Officer at Nutanix.

He also added, “Of course Nutanix Files and Objects also builds on the rest of the Nutanix Cloud Platform that thousands of customers rely on for their entire compute, network, and storage needs in an easy-to-operate platform that reduces the cost of management.”

Nutanix unstructured data storage solutions, which are well suited for hybrid cloud and cloud native application storage, were recognised for product ease of use, management simplicity, and rich data analytics and security tools that help customers monitor and report on abnormal user behaviour, performance anomalies, and audit trails. Customers can also take use of built-in ransomware protection, which can identify and block assaults. Existing HCI users can leverage Nutanix Files and Nutanix Objects to enable enterprise-grade software-defined distributed file or object services at any scale.

Nutanix was also named a Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice vendor for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage for the year 2021 in March. As of October 4, 2021, Nutanix Files and Nutanix Objects have an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars.

Customers usually cite simplicity as a key benefit, citing it as allowing for better day-to-day management, speedier deployment, and lower maintenance costs. Security and data analytics are commonly emphasised, as is flexibility, which includes the capacity to accommodate a wide range of deployments. Finally, clients discover a feature set that rivals any enterprise storage system, including space-saving and efficiency solutions, integrated resilience features, and data lifecycle management capabilities.

Nutanix is expanding its services beyond its core HCI software, such as unstructured data storage. Notably, the company achieved a 100 percent year-over-year increase in New ACV Bookings from new goods in its most recent fiscal quarter. Last month, the business also unveiled enhanced structured and unstructured data services, including increased performance for modern analytics applications, unstructured data tiering from on-premises to cloud, and Nutanix Data Lens, a new unstructured data governance tool.
