Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), among leading telecom operators in the UAE, and Oracle have joined forces to unlock the potential of sovereign hyperscaler cloud services. This collaborative initiative was formalized through a partnership framework signed at the Oracle CloudWorld Tour Dubai. The agreement was inked by Jasim Al Awadi, Chief ICT Officer (Acting) at du, and Nick Redshaw, Senior Vice President, Cloud Technology MEA and UAE Country Leader at Oracle.
In emphasizing the UAE’s reputation as one of the most innovative countries globally, Jasim Al Awadi highlighted the public sector’s rapid adoption of advanced technologies to enhance experiences for businesses, citizens, residents, and tourists. He emphasized the pivotal role of cloud as the platform for innovation, providing a robust suite of services for digital transformation. Al Awadi noted that at du, they are intensifying efforts to enhance digital capabilities, aligning with the UAE’s visionary goal to become the most technologically advanced nation by 2030, with sovereign cloud capabilities serving as a crucial pillar of this transformation.
Nick Redshaw, Senior Vice President, Technology, and UAE Country Leader at Oracle, underscored Oracle’s distributed cloud strategy, which aims to offer partners and customers greater flexibility in building, deploying, and operating cloud services. Recognizing du’s strong customer network and local capabilities, Redshaw highlighted that du and its customers are well-positioned to leverage the high performance, flexibility, security, and scalability provided by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
