Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME) organised by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) supports Dubai's ambitions to reach first place worldwide and maintain a globally leading position in sustainability, competitiveness and green economy. By implementing some of winning entries of first SDME in several properties in Dubai. SDME is a partnership between DEWA and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

Starting on its sustainability journey, company inaugurated its first on-site renewable energy project in MENA – a solar rooftop at Amazon’s largest Fulfilment Centre in the UAE, DXB3. The 5,565-panel rooftop will generate on-site solar energy to power 60% of DXB3’s energy demands – the highest permitted capacity in the UAE. Project is estimated to save 4.6 million kilowatt-hours of energy annually.

DEWA's pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai provides a unique experience for visitors. DEWA intends to become the world's first digital utility to use autonomous systems through Digital DEWA.
