NCSC also urged everybody to avoid another common password mistake – recycling the same password over and over again. Instead, you should use a unique and strong password or passphrase for each of your accounts, especially the valuable ones, and whenever possible, couple it with an added later of protection – multi-factor authentication.

FBI: Cybercrime losses topped US$4.2 billion in 2020
Tech support fraud is increasingly becoming a larger problem, with losses from scams surpassing US$146 million, which is a 171% year-on-year increase. Con artists usually try to defraud their victims by offering to resolve non-existent technical issues, such as a software license expiring, or warning them that their email or bank accounts have been “compromised”.

According to research from ESET, which looked at the attitudes of 1,200 senior managers across the world, over two-thirds (68%) of senior business leaders expect their company’s investment in FinTech to increase to some extent in 2021-2022.
